Returns & Exchanges
By making a purchase from The Shopaholic, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this returns policy.
Our returns window is valid 14 calendar days from when your order is placed. If 14 calendar days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To initiate a return or exchange, kindly contact us directly via email at order@the-shopaholic.com or via WhatsApp at 0760669010. Please state your order number when inquiring.
We will not be held responsible for deliveries or drop-offs that are unannounced or unexpected at our HQ.
We gladly allow returns and exchanges if there's a defect or problem with your item, however, we do have the right to refuse returns & exchanges if something has been worn or appears damaged in any way. The tote bag is to be returned if there was 1 item in your order - with the purchase of multiple items, the customer may keep the tote bag(s).
Please note that while mishaps do happen, we are not held liable for damages caused by incorrect garment care such as damaged caused by wearing and caring (rubbing up against a textured surface that could damage the appearance of your clothing, colour-transfer by leaving items damp in a travel bag etc.)
Exchanges:
We are able to offer instant exchanges at our HQ, upon arrangement, whereby you return your item(s), we inspect it and swap it for a new item immediately. This is something that needs to be arranged and walk-ins at our showroom risk this option being unavailable.
We are only able to assist with the exchange of orders placed on https://theshopaholic.co and not any third-party website that sells The Shopaholic.
There is no handling fee for first-time exchanges, but repeat exchanges will be charged at R50 per exchange. If you are unsure about sizing and lengths, we do offer private fitting rooms and try-on options at our showroom, to ensure that you find that perfect fit and feel.
Items purchased using a discount code on a full-priced item may be exchanged.
Returns:
All returns will be refunded with the order amount, less shipping fees, via EFT within 14 working days of us receiving the item back. Please allow 2-3 working days for us to process your returns and exchanges once we receive them.
When opting for a return, you will be charged a R50 handling fee.
We are only able to assist with the return of orders placed on https://theshopaholic.co and not any third-party website that sells The Shopaholic.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned such as:
- Gift cards
- Shipping fees incurred to deliver your order after purchase
- Shipping fees incurred to return order in the case of exchange/return
- Products that are intimate or sanitary goods such as swimwear or bodysuits
- Any items purchased on sale
- Any items that are custom or altered in size, length, colour and style. This includes any custom requests made upon purchasing garments as well as custom colours. Any item that is not within our standard offering listed online is a custom garment and cannot be returned.
- Items missing tags or labels
- Items with a detectable odour (smoke, perfume, deodorant, body odour, cleaning detergent or signs of washing)
- Items with marks, stains or signs of wear - this includes pet hair, oil stains and fake tan
- All orders initially eligible for free delivery, will be refunded their original purchase less R85
Rejection of returns:
Any item(s) that do not meet our return/exchange requirements will be shipped from our HQ, back to the original delivery address and R85 will be charged to the customer. If the item(s) are returned in person at our HQ, we reserve the right to reject the package.
Alterations at our showroom:
The option to improve the fit of a garment with an in-store alteration is available with all full-priced purchases upon arrangement via our contact methods.
Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs when returning/exchanging your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
All orders initially eligible for free delivery, will be refunded their original purchase less R85.
If we are able to accommodate your return/exchange in person at our HQ, this can be arranged too via Whatsapp at 0760669010 - please note that this is not a call line.
Refunds:
If you choose to opt for a virtual gift card instead of a refund you will receive a 10% bonus to be added to your total store credit amount (less R85 delivery fee for orders that were eligible for free delivery at the original purchase).
Store credit can be used as many times as possible until your balance reaches R0.
Items purchased using a discount code will be refunded with store credit or an item exchange. Refunds are only eligible on full-priced items/orders.
Returns of items purchased within a promo:
Items purchased on promotion that contain a free gift or bundle discount, require the free gift and full bundle item to be returned. For example, purchasing 3 tops and getting 1 free top and returning only 3 tops is not allowed.
